3D Street Art attracts visitors to Newcastle City Centre
We were commissioned to create pavement art to attract visitors to Newcastle City Centre. The end result was a fun 3D illusion about what might be under Newcastle’s streets. Commission by Newcastle Business District (BID)
The event attracted interest and local press in the Chronicle and it was all part of Newcastle’s BID ‘Summer In the City’ programme.

3D art of medieval knight for Coventry
Coventry City Council invited us to create a ‘3D Street Art Trail’ which celebrated some of the legends of Coventry’s history.
The 3D Joe and Max Street Art Trail was a great way to kick off Coventry’s City of Culture, and generated a lot of local interest, local press as well as the BBC featured the art
Sir Guy of Warwick was a legendary knight that had to fight various creatures including a dragon, a boar, a dun cow and a giant. Here is Sir Guy fighting one of our artists in the studio!
3D Illusion for Gloucester City Council
Gloucester City Council invited us to create 3D street art on the city’s streets that reflected Gloucester’s heritage. Here, artist Joe Hill painted an illusion showing a ‘Roman bath’ beneath the city streets which harks back to Gloucester’s Roman roots.
We were lucky enough to be invited twice to Gloucester in 2020 and 2021. Both times there was a lot of interest in local press and as well as national news ITV.

3D art for Newcastle’s ‘Screen on The Green’
As part of Newcastle City Council’s ‘Summer In The City’ programme of events, artist Joe Hill of 3D Joe & Max was invited to paint a film-inspired scene on the shipping container beneath the big outdoor film screen.
The 3D Art was enjoyed by film-goers are summer long, and featured in local press, online blogs and social media.

3D Street Art installation in Bristol
We were asked to create 3D Street Art illusions at Bristol’s Cabot Circus. Artist Joe Hill of 3D Joe & Max painted directly onto the ground to create a semi-permanent installation. This ‘crocodile canyon’ outside the Lego store in central Bristol was designed to create fun and interaction for shoppers.
As well as shoppers, the 3D street art attracted the attention of press and online alike.

Britain’s spy agency GCHQ honoured war-time codebreaker Alan Turing in an LGBT-inspired artwork to celebrate Turing’s face on £50 banknote entering circulation.

‘Summer In the City’ Anamorphic Art in Leicester
As part of Leicester’s ‘Summer In the City’ programme hosted by Leicester City Council, Joe Hill of 3D Joe and Max painted a large human-size ‘Snakes and Ladders’ artwork that was a game that can be played by visitors to the city centre.
There was a fantastic response from visitors all wanting to get involved and have their photo taken on the artwork. We had local press as well as national press interest.
‘Hole in the ground’ illusion on site of former football club West Ham
Barratt Homes commissioned 3D Joe and Max to create a 3D art illusion at Barratt London’s Upton Gardens development, Newham. On the site of West Ham United’s former football club, artist Joe Hill was inspired by West Ham’s football anthem ‘I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles’.
School children from neighbouring primary school St Edwards were invited to come and pose on the pavement art and were given an exclusive lesson by Joe Hill on how to draw a ‘hole in the ground’ illusion.
Trade publications such as New Homes and What House covered the 2 day event to showcase their new housing development.

Warner Bros. Pictures commissioned 3D Joe & Max to create an artwork to celebrate the release of Smallfoot in cinemas.
Previously, Warner Bros. Pictures commissioned 3D Joe & Max to create 3D street art to celebrate the release of Jack the Giant Slayer and The Dark Knight Rises.

3D Street Art of Harry Potter’s iconic Diagon Alley
We were delighted to be asked to re-create the iconic ‘Diagon Alley’ from the Harry Potter films, as seen here in our studio. The finished artwork was displayed at King’s Cross Station to launch Universal Studio’s new Harry Potter Ride.
The event was covered by The Mirror and Campaign Magazine amongst others and enjoyed by many at King’s Cross Station, London.

3D Street Art for Woodland Trust
The Charter for Trees, Woods and People aims to encourage people to plant more trees for the future. We were commissioned to create a 3D street art illusion to raise awareness for this worthwhile cause.

3D Street Art for Game of Thrones
HBO commissioned us to create a large 3D illusion of ‘The Wall’ that features in TV series Game of Thrones, to celebrate the release of Game of Thrones Series 3 on DVD and Blu-Ray.
The anamorphic painting was displayed at London’s Spitalfields and went viral. Coverage in the UK included Mail Online, The Independent, The Mirror and publications in the US and around the world
Anamorphic Art for Honda car dealerships
Joe Hill created a 3D artwork which was printed and displayed in Honda showrooms nationwide in the UK. Honda wanted to showcase their cars in an unusual and eye-catching way.
3D Street Art at Solaris Building, Singapore
Artist Joe Hill created this trick of the eye painting at The Solaris Building in Singapore – they decided they didn’t have enough levels, so they flew us out to add a few more. This is what went down!

Guinness World Records Largest And Longest 3D Street Artwork In the World for Reebok – London, UK
After ten days of blood, sweat, tears (and rain) in UK’s harsh November weather, we broke two Guinness World Records for the longest and largest piece of 3D street art ever! It measured 1,160.4 square metres and 106.5 metres long. The picture was for Reebok – last time we checked it had generated a whopping 55,000 online articles in Europe alone! The coverage went truly viral!

This was the first picture created for Visit Britain’s award-winning campaign ‘GREAT’ campaign to encourage tourism in the lead-up to the Diamond Jubilee and London 2012. The picture was displayed in Shanghai and thousands of people were able to have their photos taken on it, as well as getting unprecedented coverage across the whole of China.
